I've seen 'em that big in my basement in late, dry summers.
First time I visited the east coast of Florida, I found a spider twice that big in the bathroom... damn, that thing ran fast.
In the jungles of Miami they get to be up to about five inches, hanging there between the trees. Quite beautiful creatures, actually, with their great orbs and all.
Don't care to sleep with the bloody things though. I'm not that weird.
